  1. Zinfandel.  Or a nice Chianti.  Or maybe Sangria.

  2. Try a shiraz/syrah. I’d go for a nice, bottle of Australian Shiraz as they typically have grassy notes to them. The bold taste stands up to the BBQ without being out of place.
Or, if you like, go for a good blend of Cab Syrah. I’d say something from 2003 for either kind of wine that costs you no more than ~$30 should be perfect.

  5. If your a student of fine wine then you probably already know the answer. I would go with everyone elses answer, Sangria! Burgers and Dogs and wine don’t really meld well together (it’s like ordering beer in a can at a fancy shmancy restaurant) so a nice fruity concoction with a ton of fruit dumped in sounds perfect.

  6. try white zifandel or granache…………………….or some thing with fizz lambrusco……………or even asti ………as it’s hot not red………the lighter wines with food and being social a better mix for a good time to be had by all …………………

  7. Try a white Zin. if guests are inexperienced wine drinkers. If they are more advanced a nice shiraz(syrah) would be good.

  8. red wine Shiraz or Cabernet. Because of the strong tastes spicey burgers and hotdogs, you should get a dry red wine so you can enjoy the taste of wine and taste of the food. Otherwise you won’t taste the wine. The food will over power it.

  10. i would go with a red zinfandel or maybe a shiraz/syrah. both are a little peppery which go well with the bbq flavor.

  11. Go with the new pink ones. Like a middle of red and white.

  13. How about a Barley Wine?

Oh my bad, thats beer. Beer goes better with grilling, or any food for that matter than wine.

Wine is some what of a one trick pony, let’s see the ingredients….. grapes and…..grapes.

Beer at its simplest form requires malt, water and yeast. You start adding more like hops, spices, fruit, or honey you are in business. More complex, more diverse.

    So go with Barley Wine.

  14. I just had a local cherry wine and it went quite well with shishkabob and hamburgers. Not sure if any wine really compliments hot dogs.
